Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar has admitted that the national team didn’t fare too badly at the World Cup.

Pakistan won five games, lost three and had one washed out, but failed to make the semi-finals as they had a worse net run rate in comparison to New Zealand.

Out of the five games they won, the men in green won four in a row as they beat South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Their other victory came against England.

“Spirited performance by Pakistan. Outplaying Bangladesh. But a sad end to our World Cup campaign. Small things here and there could have changed things for us. A decent show overall. Defeated England, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan and Bangladesh,” Akhtar said on Twitter.
