Shaheen Shah Afridi finished with career-best figures of 6-35 off 9.1 overs

Left-arm seamer Shaheen Shah Afridi took a record-breaking six-wicket haul and Imam-ul-Haq scored a century as Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 94 runs at Lord’s.
Afridi, who finished with figures of 6-35 off 9.1 overs, became the youngest bowler to take a five-wicket haul in a World Cup match at 19 years of age, but he also registered the best figures by a Pakistan player in a World Cup game.
Despite their win, Pakistan failed to qualify for the World Cup semi-finals as they had to bowl Bangladesh out for seven runs after scoring 315.
Opting to bat first, Pakistan lost opener Fakhar Zaman early on as he was dismissed by Mohammad Saifuddin for 13.
Imam and Babar Azam made up for the loss of Zaman with a 157-run partnership, during which Imam raced past his fifty and Azam was nearing his hundred.
However, Azam didn’t get there as he was trapped lbw off the bowling of Saifuddin for 96, which came off 98 balls and included 11 boundaries.
Imam and Mohammad Hafeez added 66 runs, during which Imam brought up his hundred, before he stepped on his stumps off the bowling of Mustafizur Rahman.

Imam’s knock of 100 came off 100 balls and included seven boundaries.
Hafeez went on to score 27 runs before he was removed by Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Pakistan began to lose wickets in a hurry once Hafeez was gone, largely thank to Mustafizur, but with Imad Wasim smashing a 26-ball 43, they finished on 315/9.
Mustafizur was the pick of the bowlers with five wickets, while Saifuddin snapped up three and Mehidy chipped in with one.

Chasing 316 to win, Bangladesh lost opener Soumya Sarkar in the sixth over as he was caught by Zaman at point off the bowling of Mohammad Amir for 22.
Tamim Iqbal only scored eight runs before he was clean bowled by Afridi.
Mushfiqur Rahim made 16 before he was clean bowled by Wahab Riaz, while Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das amassed a 58-run partnership before Liton was removed by Afridi for 32.
Shakib went on to score a 77-ball 64, which included six boundaries, before he was caught behind off the bowling of Afridi.
Shadab Khan took out Mosaddek Hossain for 16 runs before Afridi sent Saifuddin and Mahmudullah packing for a golden duck and 29 runs respectively.
Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza was stumped by Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed off the bowling of Shabab for 15.
Bangladesh ended up being bowled out for 221 when Mustafizur was cleaned up by Afridi for one run.
Afridi was the most successful bowler with six wickets, while Shadab took two, and Amir and Wahab claimed one wicket each.
Afridi was named Man of the Match.
