Pakistan spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim has vowed that the national team will “[launch an] all-out attack” as they have to demolish Bangladesh in their must-win World Cup clash at Lord’s on Friday.
Pakistan have to crush Bangladesh by an immense margin in order to have any hope of qualifying for the World Cup semi-finals.
Despite the nearly impossible task they face to reach the last four, Imad insisted that Pakistan won’t give up.
“Now we have to play for a place in the semi-finals and we know we have just one option, [which is] to [launch an] all-out attack,” he told The Nation. “We will have to bowl out Bangladesh as early as possible if they bat first and try to achieve the target very quickly. If we bat first, we will try to score a big total and try to bowl Bangladesh out [for] a very low total.
“We have no other option but to play for a massive and comprehensive victory. We will not care that whether we lose or win, but we will play for a commanding victory, so that we may sail into the semi-finals without depending or caring about others results.”
