Pakistan pace bowler Hasan Ali has been bestowed with the honour of being included in the country’s first-ever National Youth Council.

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who led the national team to World Cup glory back in 1992, will be the Patron-In-Chief of the council.

Hasan thanked Imran after being named as a member of the council, and called on his fans to support him as he works on matters pertaining to youths in Pakistan.

“I am really honoured to be selected in Pakistan’s first youth council by Prime Minister Imran Khan. It is my honor to be with this great group of people and Inshallah I will give my best to this opportunity,” Hasan said in a video message as quoted by the Business Recorder.

Posting a message on Twitter, Hasan said: “Thank you Prime Minister Imran Khan for selecting me in [the] national youth council and putting me with so many big names. I promise to give my best to my country always Inshallah.”

The 25-year-old, who is currently part of Pakistan’s World Cup team, has taken two wickets in four games at the tournament at an average of 128 and an economy rate of 7.75.

Pakistan have to beat Bangladesh at Lord’s on Friday and hope that New Zealand beat England on Wednesday as that will secure them a spot in the World Cup semi-finals.
