Pakistan spin-bowling all-rounder Imad Wasim thanked the fans for their love and support after his game-winning 49 not out against Afghanistan in the World Cup on Saturday.

Imad struck five boundaries during his knock and led Pakistan to an incredible three-wicket win with two balls to spare.

Imad’s heroics with the bat ensured the men in green kept their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup semi-finals alive.

The 30-year-old was extremely pleased to see so many Pakistan fans in attendance for the match at Headingley and admitted that it felt like the national team were playing at home.

“Thank you very much to the crowd, it feels like home here; they gave us a boost and [lots of] confidence,” Imad was quoted as saying by PakPassion.

With Pakistan having defeated Afghanistan, they will now have to beat Bangladesh at Lord’s on Friday to have any chance of reaching the last four.
