Legendary Pakistan pace bowler Waqar Younis has revealed that Haris Sohail should bat at number four going forward.
Waqar’s comments come after Haris was named Man of the Match for his 59-ball 89 against South Africa in the World Cup on Sunday.
The men in green’s 49-run victory over the Proteas at Lord’s kept their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup semi-finals alive, while South Africa were eliminated from the tournament.
“For me, he’s my number four batsman in the team… and you can give him more overs to build that innings. He and Babar Azam could really complement each other,” Waqar wrote in his column for the International Cricket Council as quoted by Reuters.
Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against New Zealand at Edgbaston on Wednesday.
