Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has made it clear that the team are not struggling psychologically going into their World Cup clash against South Africa on Sunday.
Sarfraz’s comments come after Pakistan lost to arch-rivals India by 89 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method in their World Cup clash on Sunday.
India’s victory extended their unbeaten streak against Pakistan as they have now won all seven of their meetings against their arch-rivals in the World Cup.
To make matters worse, Pakistan have now only won one of the five World Cup games they have played.
“I don’t think so, everything is fine. Certainly psychologically we [saw] the pressure as a captain if you [lose] against India in a World Cup match, people will think we lost [for the] first time in a World Cup,” Sarfraz was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “But we all are okay. We are all backing ourselves, so hopefully we will bounce back in tomorrow’s match.”
