Mohammad Hafeez: “He is working hard. His body language is positive and we are all supporting him”

Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has made it clear that fellow all-rounder Shoaib Malik is working incredibly hard to turn his fortunes around.

Malik has been heavily criticised for failing to have an impact in the ongoing World Cup, where Pakistan have won just one of the five games they have played.

Malik has scored eight runs in three matches at an average of 2.66 and taken one wicket at an average of 47.

Despite his struggles, Hafeez insisted that “we are all supporting him”.

“He is working hard. His body language is positive and we are all supporting him,” Hafeez was quoted as saying by The News International. “There are times when you are doing everything but nothing is working. I’ve been in the same situation so I can understand what Malik is going through.”

Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against South Africa at Lord’s on Sunday.
