Former Pakistan captain Rashid Latif believes that pace bowler Hasan Ali has been “struggling badly” in the ongoing World Cup.
Hasan has taken two wickets in four games at an average of 128. It should be noted that Pakistan have played five matches, but since their game against Sri Lanka was washed out, it is not counted in the statistics.
To make matters worse, Hasan conceded 39 runs off four overs against the West Indies, 66 runs off 10 overs against England, 67 runs off 10 overs against Australia and 84 runs off nine overs against India.
“Hasan Ali is completely out of form and is struggling badly, and [it is] nowhere near to what was expected from him,” Latif told The Nation.
Pakistan’s next World Cup game will be against South Africa at Lord’s on Sunday.
