Former Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf firmly believes that all-rounder Shoaib Malik’s international career is over.
Yousuf’s comments come after Malik has failed to have an impact at the World Cup, where he scored eight runs against England and made a two-ball duck against Australia and a golden duck against India.
In regards to his bowling, he has only taken one wicket, which came in the match against England.
In addition to thinking Malik’s international career is done and dusted, Yousuf also feels it would be a “big mistake” if Pakistan were to pick the 37-year-old in their remaining World Cup group stage matches.
“I think his career is over for Pakistan and I don’t see him playing any further [part] in this World Cup. To select him again would be a big mistake,” Yousuf was quoted as saying by www.bdcrictime.com.
Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against South Africa at Lord’s on Sunday.
