Former England captain Michael Vaughan criticised Pakistan batsman Babar Azam for getting shot to a “lazy shot” during his side’s World Cup clash against India on Sunday.

Azam was looking in good touch before he was clean bowled by spinner Kuldeep Yadav for 48.

To make matters worse, Azam’s dismissal ended the 104-run partnership he put together with Fakhar Zaman and triggered Pakistan’s collapse.

“Babar Azam will look back at that shot and look at his foot movement. It was a lazy shot,” Vaughan was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter.

Pakistan ended up losing their match to India by 89 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method.

India’s victory extended their unbeaten streak against Pakistan as they have now won all seven of their meetings against their arch-rivals in the World Cup.

Pakistan’s next World Cup match will be against South Africa at Lord’s on Sunday.
