Pakistan batsman Babar Azam has revealed that he watches videos of and looks to learn from India captain Virat Kohli as he is his “favourite batsman”.

Azam and Kohli will go head to head on Sunday as Pakistan will take on India in the World Cup in Manchester.

Azam has made scores of 22, 63 and 30 against the West Indies, England and Australia in the World Cup respectively. He didn’t bat against Sri Lanka as the match was washed out.

As for Kohli, he scored 18 and 82 in India’s matches against South Africa and Australia. He didn’t bat against New Zealand as the match was abandoned without a single ball being bowled.

“Kohli is my favorite batsman. I watch his videos and try to learn from that,” Azam was quoted as saying by “He is an experienced player and it is always good to learn from a player of his caliber. On Sunday, he will be playing for his team and I will be playing for mine, so there will be no influence on me.”

Pakistan will be looking to snap their winless streak against their arch-rivals as India have triumphed in their six World Cup meetings to date.

However, Pakistan can take confidence from the fact that they demolished India by 180 runs in the Champions Trophy final in 2017.
