Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has vowed that his side will “go for the kill” in their World Cup clash against India on Sunday.

Pakistan will play India in Manchester, and the men in green will be looking to snap their winless streak against their arch-rivals as India have triumphed in their six World Cup meetings to date.

However, Pakistan can take confidence from the fact that they demolished India by 180 runs in the Champions Trophy final in 2017.

Furthermore, Sarfraz knows that his side are in desperate need of a win as they have only won one of their first four World Cup matches.

“All of us know how big the game against India will be at Old Trafford on June 16. We will do our best preparation for that game,” he wrote in his blog for the Pakistan Cricket Board’s website. “It will be a new game at a new venue, so we have to start it with a clean slate and go for the kill.

“I have full faith and confidence in my team and I am sure we will turn this around.”
