Pakistan opener Imam-ul-Haq insists that he is “excited” about his side’s highly-anticipated World Cup clash against India on Sunday.

Pakistan will play India in Manchester, and the men in green will be looking to snap their winless streak against their arch-rivals as India have triumphed in their six World Cup meetings to date.

However, Pakistan can take confidence from the fact that they demolished India by 180 runs in the Champions Trophy final in 2017.

“Yes, we’ve had one game rained off which was very important for us – every game now is very important for us, so yes you can say that,” he was quoted as saying by the Pakistan Cricket Board’s website.

“Obviously, to be part of that kind of game, it’s great. It’s in Manchester, lots of Pakistani fans there – so I’m really excited about it.

“It’s a huge pressure game, obviously. Pakistan and India, there’s a lot of mysteries behind that but we want to just focus on our cricket strengths and how we can get better.”
