Legendary batsman Younis Khan has called for the return of bilateral series between India and Pakistan as he feels the cricketing community is being robbed of one of the greatest rivalries in the sport.

India and Pakistan only face each other in major International Cricket Council (ICC) events, and will go head to head in the World Cup on June 16.

However, since political relations between the two countries are extremely frosty, they have not played any bilateral series since Pakistan toured India for a three-match ODI series in December 2012 to January 2013.

“India and Pakistan should resume cricketing ties and I feel India-Pakistan cricket is very important for the sport. The whole world craves for India versus Pakistan cricket matches,” Younis was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter.
