Wasim Akram: “I tried sledging Sachin Tendulkar but then we realised he just would not react”

Legendary Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram has revealed that he, Waqar Younis and Shoaib Akhtar all made the mistake of trying to sledge iconic India batsman Sachin Tendulkar.

Wasim pointed out that Tendulkar became “motivated” and thrived after being sledged.

However, even though they tried to get under Tendulkar’s skin, Akram noted that the 46-year-old was not fazed by it as he didn’t even react.

“I tried sledging Sachin Tendulkar but then we realised he just would not react. Shoaib Akhtar tried, Waqar Younis tried. Some guys would get upset by being sledged, but Sachin would just get more motivated when he was sledged,” Akram was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter.
