Azhar Mahmood: “This bowling line-up has the ability to bowl England out for under 300”

Pakistan bowling coach Azhar Mahmood firmly believes that the national team can bowl England out for less than 300 in their World Cup clash on Monday.

Pakistan will go into a match on a low as they were comprehensively beaten by the West Indies.

Pakistan were skittled out for 105 after being put in to bat first and the West Indies proceeded to win the match by seven wickets with 218 balls to spare.

Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam were the top scorers as they both made 22 runs, while Wahab Riaz chipped in with a quickfire 18 at the end.

Mohammad Hafeez was the only other batsman to reach double figures as he made 16.

England, meanwhile, scored 311/8 in their opening game against South Africa, which they won by 104 runs.

England also crushed Pakistan 4-0 in their five-match ODI series prior to the World Cup.

In that series, England scored 373/3 in the second ODI, 359/4 in the third match, 341/7 in the fourth game and 351/9 in the fifth ODI.

“I am hearing that people are talking about a 480-500 score on this wicket, let me tell you that England has to play 300 deliveries to score that much and we just need 10 good deliveries, 10 wicket-taking deliveries,” Mahmood was quoted as saying by Geo.tv. “This bowling line-up has the ability to bowl England out for under 300.

“It’s true that we have lost eleven games and we are in search of one win. We have set our plans for that and just need proper execution to achieve that. This team has the ability to bounce back and God willing, we will do it tomorrow.

“Eleven matches also include five matches of Australia where we were without our top players. We are not among the people who give up easily. We have always bounced back after being knocked down and we will do that again.”
