Pakistan spinner Shadab Khan has admitted that he is excited for the World Cup as it will be a dream come true for him.

Shadab was initially in doubt for the tournament as he was diagnosed with Hepatitis C.

However, now that he has recovered, the 20-year-old is ready to shine in his first World Cup and called on the people of Pakistan to support the team throughout the tournament.

“As children we all dream of playing for Pakistan in a World Cup. To wear our national team’s World Cup jersey,” he said on Twitter. “It is a dream come true for us. We will try to give it our all in the World Cup. Support your county and pray for our success.”

Pakistan will play two World Cup warm-up games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Bristol and Cardiff on May 24 and 26 respectively.

They will then begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
