Legendary Pakistan batsman Zaheer Abbas has noted that the national team must improve their fielding ahead of the World Cup.

Abbas’ comments come after Pakistan’s fielding let them down majorly during the recently concluded five-match ODI series against England, which they lost 4-0.

In addition to working on their fielding, Abbas urged Pakistan to put their series loss to England in the past and focus on winning the World Cup, which the country has not done since 1992.

“They should now forget the loss against England and focus on the World Cup. They must improve their fielding,” he was quoted as saying by the Deccan Chronicle.

Pakistan will play two World Cup warm-up games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Bristol and Cardiff on May 24 and 26 respectively.

They will then begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
