Pakistan left-arm seamer Junaid Khan posted a cryptic message on Twitter that featured a picture of himself with tape over his mouth after he was axed from the World Cup squad.

Junaid was dropped along with all-rounder Faheem Ashraf and opener Abid Ali.

This came after the selectors decided to include batsman Asif Ali, and left-arm pace bowlers Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir in the finalised side.

In a short and sharp message that seemed to voice his frustration, Junaid, who has since deleted the tweet, said: “I don’t want to say anything. Truth is bitter.”

Pakistan will play two World Cup warm-up games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Bristol and Cardiff on May 24 and 26 respectively.

They will then begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
