Ex-Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf believes that the national team are capable of reaching the semi-finals at the World Cup.

Yousuf’s belief in the side comes even after they were beaten 4-0 by England in their recently concluded five-match ODI series.

Prior to that, they lost 3-2 to South Africa and were whitewashed 5-0 by Australia.

Even though Pakistan have endured a tough time in ODIs this year, Yousuf still feels the men in green have what it takes to qualify for the semi-finals at the World Cup.

“Pakistan has selected a good combination of senior players and youngsters, who can take them into the semi-finals of the World Cup,” Yousuf was quoted as saying by cricketpakistan.com.pk.

Pakistan will play two World Cup warm-up games against Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Bristol and Cardiff on May 24 and 26 respectively.

They will then begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
