Mushtaq Ahmed has noted that in order for spinner Yasir Shah to have more success in limited overs cricket, he must work on improving his googly.
Yasir was called up to replace Shadab Khan for the ongoing ODI series against England as the latter is recovering from a virus, which is reported to be Hepatitis C.
However, there has been a lot of debate about whether Yasir deserved to be included in the ODI squad, especially as he has taken 23 wickets in 24 ODIs at an average of 47.39.
“I think Yasir has the potential to become a good shorter format bowler if he improves his googly because once he does that he will become a match-winner for Pakistan,” Mushtaq, a former Pakistan leg-spinner, told cricketpakistan.com.pk. “He has all the other weapons, flipper, leg-spinner and top-spinner in his repertoire along with an excellent line and length.”
