Mohammad Hasnain: “I love to bowl fast and that is my strong point”

Pakistan seamer Mohammad Hasnain believes that his pace is his “strong point” going into the World Cup.

Hasnain, who is capable of bowling at speeds around 150km/h, was picked ahead of left-arm seamers Mohammad Amir and Usman Khan Shinwari when Pakistan announced their World Cup team last month.

Hasnain made his international debut in the recent five-match ODI series against Australia, where he took two wickets in three games at an average of 78.

He was called up to the national team for his performance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he claimed 12 wickets in seven games for the Quetta Gladiators at an average of 17.58.

“It´s a great honour to represent Pakistan and the honour multiplied when I was named in the World Cup squad,” Hasnain told AFP as quoted by The News International.

“I am on cloud nine and ready to make batsmen struggle with my speed. I love to bowl fast and that is my strong point.”

Pakistan will kick off their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
