Babar Azam: “I am feeling pretty good and I aim to continue with [my] form”

Pakistan batsman Babar Azam is “feeling pretty good” and has vowed to maintain his form during the World Cup.

Azam has been one of Pakistan’s most consistent performers as of late and was included in the country’s World Cup team.

In the ongoing tour of England, Azam made nine and 68 not out in the one-day warm-up games against Kent and Northamptonshire respectively.

He then struck his maiden Twenty20 hundred when he scored 101 against Leicestershire.

“I am feeling pretty good and I aim to continue with [my] form,” he was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder. “Arriving early [in England] helped a lot as we [got] to know about the conditions, how to bat and make plans… I am pretty confident, our side has gelled well as every player is in form and is performing well.”

Pakistan have not won the World Cup since 1992, where the nation’s current Prime Minister Imran Khan captained the national team to victory.

The men in green will begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
