Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik has admitted that his “life would be complete” if the national team were to win the World Cup, which begins in England and Wales next month.
Malik feels this way as he was part of the Pakistan side that won the World Twenty20 in 2009 and the Champions Trophy in 2017.
With the 37-year-old retiring from ODIs after the World Cup, he feels winning the tournament would be the best way to bid farewell to the 50-over format.
“I have won the World T20 and the Champions Trophy but the only missing piece from my trophy cabinet is the World Cup,” Malik told cricketpakistan.com.pk. “My life would be complete if I’m successful in winning it.”
Pakistan will kick off their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
