Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur firmly believes that pace bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi will be the top-ranked seamer in international cricket in three years’ time.

Afridi made his international debut last April and has represented Pakistan in all three formats since then.

He has taken 12 wickets in three Tests at an average of 31.41 and 19 wickets in 10 ODIs at an average of 19.36.

As for Twenty20 Internationals, he has claimed 13 wickets in nine games at an average of 19.46.

“I’ve made a prediction that in three years’ time, Shaheen Shah Afridi will be the number one quick bowler in world cricket,” Arthur was quoted as saying by Saj Sadiq on Twitter.

Afridi is in Pakistan’s World Cup squad and will be expected to play a major role with the ball during the tournament, which will be held in England and Wales.

Pakistan will kick off their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
