Ex-Pakistan pace bowler Aaqib Javed has revealed that all-rounders Faheem Ashraf and Imad Wasim will play a crucial role in run chases during the World Cup.
Faheem has been part of Pakistan’s side on a consistent basis, but has not featured in many games as of late.
As for Imad, he is recovering from a knee injury, but managed to pass the mandatory yo-yo test to get into Pakistan’s World Cup squad.
However, Pakistan are allowed to make changes to their side without permission from the International Cricket Council (ICC) until May 23.
“All-rounders like Imad Wasim and Faheem Ashraf batting at number seven and eight will help Pakistan in crucial run chases,” Javed told cricketpakistan.com.pk.
Pakistan will kick off their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
