Legendary Pakistan left-arm seamer Wasim Akram has not been impressed with the first four editions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) since the tournament isn’t producing any quality cricketers.
Akram also feels that if there are any players who show some promise, it is usually bowlers.
This is a problem for Akram as he believes Pakistan are in need of top-class batsmen.
In this year’s PSL, all of the top Pakistani run-scorers were players that are already in the national team or have played for Pakistan in the past.
Kamran Akmal was the highest Pakistani run-scorer with 357 runs in 13 matches for Peshawar Zalmi at an average of 27.46.
After Akmal, the next four top Pakistani run-scorers were Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Ahmed Shehzad and Fakhar Zaman.
“I have not seen quality cricketers coming through the PSL,” Akram was quoted as saying by cricketpakistan.com.pk. “Even if they do, they are usually bowlers but I have hardly seen a good batsman in the tournament.”

Fair enough, but hardly any batsman have been given full chance to express themselves
I think Akram is right because there has been a lack of impressive batsmen. We have seen lots of promising bowlers, but not enough batsmen.
