Pakistan left-arm seamer Wahab Riaz has made it clear that he is determined to be part of the country’s squad for the World Cup next month.
Wahab was the third-highest wicket-taker in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) as he took 17 wickets in 13 games for the Peshawar Zalmi at an average of 19.88.
While he wasn’t selected for the ODI series against Australia that followed, Wahab made his presence felt in the second match of the Pakistan Cup on Wednesday, where he took figures of 5-52 off 10 overs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s three-wicket win over the Federal Areas.
“It is my top priority to become part of the World Cup squad,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “There is no doubt that we have talented bowlers but it’s just down to who we pick and chose for this time and that is up to the selectors.”
