Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has admitted that opener Abid Ali’s hunger to succeed and be part of the national team is extremely impressive.
Abid made his debut in the fourth ODI against Australia in Dubai, where he scored a superb 112.
In the following match, he was dismissed for a golden duck, but he still ended the series with 112 runs to his name at an average of 56.
“Abid Ali was very impressive this tour,” Arthur was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “He came into the set-up and his attitude and work ethic, the extra little bit of work he did through the tour was incredible. He’s a hungry man who wants to play cricket for Pakistan.
“I’m incredibly impressed by him and everything he brought to the side. I thought the hundred he got on debut was a very good innings.”
