Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has admitted that he was extremely impressed with batsman Haris Sohail’s performance in the recently concluded ODI series against Australia in the United Arab Emirates.
Haris was Pakistan’s highest run-scorer and second-highest overall in the five-match series with 291 runs, which included two centuries, at an average of 72.75.
The 30-year-old scored his maiden ODI hundred in the first ODI before bringing up his second century in the fifth ODI on Sunday.
“Haris Sohail has been fantastic, two hundreds, he’s been very good,” Arthur was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “He’s shown us the quality he’s got. Today I was really impressed because in the previous two innings, I thought his tempo wasn’t where it should be but today his tempo was spot on.
“If he bats like that, and our top order bats like that, we’re not a 280-side, we’ll become a 310-side and that’s where we’ve got to be, going into the World Cup.”
