Former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja has slammed the national selectors for opting to experiment during the ongoing ODI series against Australia in the United Arab Emirates.
Ramiz’s comments come after Australia crushed Pakistan by 80 runs in the third ODI in Abu Dhabi and took an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
Pakistan decided to rest captain Sarfraz Ahmed, Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan and Hasan Ali for the series and handed opportunities to other players.
However, with the move having backfired, Ramiz noted that Pakistan have to forget about the series as nothing positive came out of it.
“Pakistan should get this series out of their system as soon as possible, [as] nothing positive happened for the team in this series. Many pundits are also [questioning] what Pakistan got from this experimentation,” Ramiz was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.
Pakistan will look to secure a consolation win in the fourth ODI in Dubai on Friday.

The chief selector should be fired, along with the coaching squad. Javed Miandad should be in charge of the team and courageous players with good temperament selected. The whole system stinks – an old tale @
I think they need people like Wasim Akram in as a bowling coach and someone like a Younis Khan as a batting coach. They need Pakistan legends who these guys looked up to growing up.
Enough of Wasim. Guy is a sell out
Waqar Younis as bowling coach then? And perhaps Saqlain Mushtaq as spin coach?
