Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has conceded that his side are not among his favourites to win the World Cup in England and Wales later this year.
Pakistan lost 3-2 in their last ODI series against South Africa, but they will be looking to bounce back in the five-match ODI series against Australia, which begins on March 22 in Sharjah.
Arthur pointed out that he sees England and India as the frontrunners to win the World Cup, but stressed that Pakistan and South Africa round off his top four.
“Look I think it is going to be a formidable World Cup. There are seven teams that can seriously win it,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “My head says that England and India are the favourites but Pakistan and South Africa are the next two for me, so that will be my top four; India, England, Pakistan and South Africa.”
Pakistan will begin their World Cup campaign against the West Indies in Nottingham on May 31.
