Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has admitted that he has been highly impressed with Karachi Kings left-arm spinner Umer Khan, Quetta Gladiators pace bowler Mohammad Hasnain and Islamabad United seamer Muhammad Musa in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Umer is currently the joint sixth-highest wicket-taker in the PSL with 10 wickets in eight matches at an average of 15.50. He has also maintained an economy rate of 6.73.
Hasnain has claimed five wickets in four games at an average of 23, while Musa has also picked up five wickets in four matches, but at an average of 23.80.
However, while Misbah is pleased that the trio have stepped up and started making a name for themselves, he conceded that the tournament is not producing any standout batsmen.
“If you look Mohammad Hasnain is good. We are getting good bowlers, but not good batsmen. Hasnain is bowling at express pace, then Musa is good and spinner Umer Khan of Karachi is also very good and it is difficult to bowl at this stage,” Misbah was quoted as saying by the PSL’s website.
“If you get two to three players, then it’s good for Pakistan cricket and once they are groomed they reduce the gap of international cricket.”
