Trent Boult took a five-wicket haul as New Zealand demolished Bangladesh by an innings and 52 runs on the fourth day of the first Test in Hamilton.
Starting off the day on 174/4, Soumya Sarkar and captain Mahmudullah converted their 48-run partnership into a 235-run stand, during which Sarkar raced past his hundred, while Mahmudullah was on the verge of bringing up his own century.

Sarkar ended up making a career-best 149, which came off 171 balls and included 21 boundaries and five sixes, before he was clean bowled by Boult.
Liton Das suffered the same fate shortly after, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz was caught by Jeet Raval at long leg off the bowling of Neil Wagner for one run.
Abu Jayed was then cleaned up by Boult for three runs, while Mahmudullah went on to score a career-best 146, which came off 229 deliveries and included 21 boundaries and three sixes, before he was caught by Boult at deep point off the bowling of Tim Southee.

Bangladesh were bowled out for 429 four balls later as debutant Ebadat Hossain was caught behind off the bowling of Southee for a duck.
Boult was the pick of the bowlers with five wickets, while Southee took three and Wagner claimed two.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson was named Man of the Match for his unbeaten 200.
