Kusal Mendis and Oshada Fernando scored an unbeaten 84 and a career-best 75 not out respectively to lead Sri Lanka to a historical eight-wicket win over South Africa in Port Elizabeth.
Sri Lanka won the series 2-0 and thus became only the third team after Australia and England, and the first from Asia, to win a Test series in South Africa.
Starting off the day on 60/2, Mendis and Fernando punished and frustrated the South African bowling attack as they refused to give their wickets away.
The duo converted their 26-run partnership into an unbeaten 163-run stand, where both of them brought up their half-centuries.
South Africa attempted to do everything possible to get back into the game, but to no avail.
Ultimately, Mendis finished on 84, which came off 110 balls and included 13 boundaries, while Fernando remained undefeated on 75, which came off 106 deliveries and included 10 boundaries and two sixes.
Kagiso Rabada and Duanne Olivier picked up one wicket apiece on the second day.
Mendis was named Man of the Match.
