Pakistan bowling coach Azhar Mahmood firmly believes that the national team are one of the frontrunners to win this year’s World Cup in England and Wales.
Pakistan failed to triumph in their most recent ODI series as they lost 3-2 to South Africa.
Despite this, Mahmood reiterated that his side have what it takes to taste World Cup glory for the first time since 1992.
Pakistan can also draw confidence from the fact that they won the Champions Trophy in England in 2017.
“We played competitive white-ball cricket in South Africa and I feel that as a team in both 20-over and 50-over cricket we are heading in the right direction and can be one of the major challengers at this year’s World Cup,” Mahmood wrote in his blog for PakPassion.
