Pakistan pace bowler Hasan Ali has revealed that he has his sights set on winning the ongoing ODI series against South Africa.
Pakistan were whitewashed 3-0 in the Test series that preceded the ODIs, but they managed to bounce back and win the first ODI by five wickets.
While Pakistan still need to triumph in two more matches to win the series, Hasan is confident that his side are capable of doing that.
“This is our first win; we have a good ODI side and are looking forward to winning this series,” he was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder.
Meanwhile, Hasan admitted that he was surprised by the fact that South Africa didn’t pile on the runs towards the end of their innings in the first ODI as they had wickets in hand.
South Africa were at 190/1 after 40 overs, but proceeded to finish on 266/2.
“Obviously we were surprised; the South Africans were in a good position till the 40th over, they had [nine] wickets in hand and I don’t know why they didn’t go for big runs,” he said.
