Mohammad Yousuf: “I was particularly shocked with Yasir Shah, as he was not able to do anything here [in South Africa]”
Ex-Pakistan batsman Mohammad Yousuf has admitted that he has been less than impressed with spinner Yasir Shah’s performance in the ongoing Test series against South Africa.
Yasir only took one wicket in the first two Tests at an average of 123, which prompted Yousuf to concede that he was shocked by Yasir’s failure to have an impact, especially as he is Pakistan’s go-to spinner.
“I was particularly shocked with Yasir Shah, as he was not able to do anything here [in South Africa], being one of the best spinners in the world and boasting several records,” Yousuf was quoted as saying by the Business Recorder. “I believe he didn’t trouble any batsman.”
Yasir was dropped for the ongoing third Test in Johannesburg as Pakistan opted to select Shadab Khan in his place.
