Australia’s bowlers proved too much for India’s batsmen to handle as they led their side to a comprehensive 146-run win on the final day in Perth, which leveled the four-Test series at 1-1.
Australia’s win snapped their losing streak as prior to this, their last Test victory came against South Africa in March. The Baggy Greens’ triumph also marked Tim Paine’s first win as Test captain.
Starting off the day on 112/5, India only added seven runs to their overnight score before Hanuma Vihari was caught by Marcus Harris at midwicket off the bowling of Mitchell Starc for 28.
Wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant mustered 30 runs before he was brilliantly caught by Peter Handscomb at midwicket off the bowling of Nathan Lyon.
