Mehidy Hasan Miraz ripped through Zimbabwe’s batting line-up with a five-wicket haul to not only lead Bangladesh to a 218-run win in Dhaka, but ensure the series ended as a 1-1 draw.
Starting off the day on 76/2, Zimbabwe were dealt a big blow early on as all-rounder Sean Williams was clean bowled by Mustafizur Rahman for 13.
Sikandar Raza didn’t fare any better as he was caught and bowled by Taijul Islam for 12 runs.
Brendan Taylor and Peter Moor halted Bangladesh’s charge with a 66-run partnership before Moor was caught by Imrul Kayes at short leg off the bowling of Mehidy for 13.
Regis Chakabva was run out by Mominul Haque for two runs before Mehidy took out Donald Tiripano, Brandon Mavuta and Kyle Jarvis in quick succession.
Since Tendai Chatara could not bat due to an injury, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 224.
Taylor was left stranded on 106, which came off 167 balls and included 10 boundaries.

Mehidy, who also dismissed Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza on the fourth day, was the pick of the bowlers with five wickets, while Taijul took two and Mustafizur claimed one.
Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim was named Man of the Match for his career-best knock of 219 not out in the first innings.
