Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam took a five-wicket haul as Bangladesh were set 321 to win by Zimbabwe on the third day of the first Test in Sylhet.
Starting off the day on 1/0, Zimbabwe only added 18 runs to their overnight score before opener Brian Chari was clean bowled by Mehidy Hasan Miraz for four runs.
Brendan Taylor made a quickfire 24 before he was caught by Imrul Kayes near long-on off the bowling of Taijul.
Zimbabwe captain Hamilton Masakadza and Sean Williams stabilised the innings with a 54-run partnership before Masakadza was trapped lbw off the bowling of Mehidy for 48.
Williams went on to make 20 before he was cleaned up by Taijul, who removed Peter Moor the very next ball and Sikandar Raza in his next over.
Medhidy took out debutant Wellington Masakadza before debutant Nazmul Islam sent Regis Chakabva and debutant Brandon Mavuta packing for 20 and six runs respectively.
Zimbabwe ended up being bowled out for 181, which set Bangladesh 321 to win, when Tendai Chatara was given out lbw off the bowling of Taijul for eight runs.
Taijul was the pick of the bowlers with five wickets, while Mehidy took three and Nazmul claimed two.
Chasing 321 to win, Bangladesh made a cautious start to their innings as Liton Das and Kayes amassed an unbeaten 26-run partnership off 10.1 overs before bad light brought play to an end for the day.
Liton finished on 14, which came off 38 balls and included two boundaries, while Kayes also struck two boundaries during his 23-ball 12.
Bangladesh ended day three on 26/0 and will continue batting on Tuesday at 10:00 local time or 04:00 GMT.
