Pakistan spinner Yasir Shah has admitted that he is highly impressed with pace bowler Mohammad Abbas’ superb start to his Test career.
Abbas has taken 49 wickets in nine Tests at an average of 16.89, and starred once again in the ongoing second Test against Australia in Abu Dhabi, where he claimed a five-wicket haul in the first innings.
Given that he has picked up over 50 wickets in his first 10 Tests, Yasir could do nothing but heap praise on the 28-year-old.
“Mohammad Abbas has really impressed me in all the matches he has played for Pakistan so far,” Yasir was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. “Since his debut in 2017, he has continuously improved himself and demonstrated his wicket-taking skills as he did on the England tour where he was the highest wicket-taker in the Test series.
“He bowled wonderfully well in the match against Australia too and gave us a great chance of victory and I am sure he will continue to prove to be a good fast-bowler for Pakistan in the future.”
