Pakistan chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq has made it clear that Sarfraz Ahmed isn’t in danger of being stripped of the captaincy.
Inzamam’s comments come after Sarfraz was heavily criticised for his style of captaincy during the Asia Cup, where Pakistan were knocked out in the Super Four stage after losing a must-win game against Bangladesh.
While Inzamam admitted that Pakistan’s performance throughout the tournament did not live up to expectations, he hopes they will put up a better showing in the upcoming series against Australia in the United Arab Emirates.
“There is no question about Sarfraz’s captaincy,” he was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “However, Sarfraz and the team did not play the cricket we were expecting.
“I hope the team puts a better display of their skills in the upcoming series.”
