England all-rounder Sam Curran, spinner Adil Rashid and batsman Jos Buttler have been rewarded with Test contracts for the 2018/19 season following their impressive performances over the summer.

Curran was named Man of the Series for his magnificent performance in the five-Test series against India.

The 20-year-old played in four Tests and scored 272 runs, which included two half-centuries, at an average of 38.85. He also claimed 11 wickets at an average of 23.54.

Rashid took 10 wickets at an average of 30.90 against India, but is expected to play a larger role during the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka in November due to the country having spin-friendly pitches.

As for Buttler, he has enjoyed a lot of success with the bat since being recalled to the Test side when England played Pakistan in May.

In the two-Test series against Pakistan, Buttler scored 161 runs, which included two fifties, at an average of 80.50.

Against India, Buttler accumulated 349 runs, which included a century and two half-centuries, at an average of 38.77.

All-rounder Ben Stokes also kept hold of his Test contract, even though he was charged with bringing the game into disrepute and will have to attend a Cricket Disciplinary Committee (CDC) hearing in December.

The charge stems from Stokes’ involvement in a brawl outside Mbargo nightclub in Bristol last September.

Meanwhile, for England’s limited overs list, pace bowler Jake Ball was omitted, while all-rounder Tom Curran received an incremental contract.
