Bangladesh batsman Mohammad Mithun is not concerned about the threat Afghanistan spinners Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman pose, saying that the duo are not unplayable.
Rashid and Mujeeb took two wickets apiece in Afghanistan’s 91-run win over Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup, which knocked the island nation of the tournament.
However, Mithun, who scored a career-best 63 in Bangladesh’s 137-run win over Sri Lanka in the opening game of the tournament, is confident that his side can withstand Rashid and Mujeeb when their teams meet on September 20.
“They [Rashid Khan and Mujeeb Ur Rahman] are world class bowlers but it is not that they are unplayable,” Mithun told Cricbuzz as quoted by bdcrictime.com. “Our one-day game is strong, we should not build their spinners up too big in our mind because most of the times that results in a downfall. We need to have a good game plan in place and that should hold us in good stead.”
