Former Pakistan captain Aamer Sohail believes the national team will be tough to beat in the upcoming Asia Cup as they are full of confidence.
Sohail believes that Pakistan’s victory in last year’s Champions Trophy was the starting point of their superb rise.
In addition to this, the national team are going into the Asia Cup on a high as they won the recent T20 tri-series against Zimbabwe and Australia. They followed that up by whitewashing Zimbabwe 5-0 in their ODI series.
“I think winning ICC Champions Trophy changed the outlook of the Pakistan Cricket team,” Sohail was quoted as saying by mid-day. “It gave them a lot of confidence and at the same time, they are assured of their places now.
“The team is responding well to the captain, coach and sports staff. The boys are playing positive cricket and you get to see the difference.”
Pakistan will begin their Asia Cup campaign against Hong Kong on September 16 in Dubai.
