Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik has called for Pakistan to resume playing bilateral series with India.
Pakistan and India last played a Test series in 2007, while their last limited overs series came in December 2012 to January 2013.
While the two arch-rivals go head to head in major cricketing events like the World Cup, Malik feels that both sides should be playing each other on a more regular basis.
“India and Pakistan should play more matches because people from both countries travel between the countries when bilateral series happens, it helps in uniting the people,” Malik was quoted as saying by PakPassion ahead of Pakistan’s clash with India in the Asia Cup on September 19. “Both team’s players are professionals and they know how to behave on the field and off the field.
“When we are not playing against each other, we are having meals together and that is how it should be, not only with India-Pakistan but with other teams also.”
