Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman has lavished praise on his opening partner Imam-ul-Haq, and admitted that he enjoys batting with the 22-year-old.

Zaman and Imam tormented Zimbabwe during the recent five-match ODI series as they were both in red-hot form.

Zaman made history during the series as he struck a career-best 210 not out in the fourth ODI.

Zaman joined an elite club following his spectacular knock as he became just the sixth player to score a double century in ODI cricket.

In addition, his knock was the fifth-highest in ODI history and the highest by a Pakistani batsman.

Overall, Zaman scored 515 runs in five ODIs, which included two centuries and two fifties, at an average of 257.50.

In addition to his spectacular double century, Zaman also became the fastest batsman to score 1,000 ODI runs with his knock of 85 in the fifth ODI.

As for Imam, he amassed 395 runs, which included three centuries, at an average of 79.

Given how well the pair batted throughout the series, Zaman is confident that he and Imam will have a lot more success in the future.

Zaman also noted that he has been highly impressed with Imam’s determination to constantly improve and develop his game in order to become a better player.

“Imam-ul-Haq is an exceptional player and, while he may be a new opening partner for me in the Pakistan side, I already have experience of playing alongside him as we have opened together many times for our domestic Habib Bank side,” Zaman was quoted as saying by PakPassion. “I have a very good understanding with Imam and really enjoy batting with him. He is a very hard-working player and is open to any advice I give about his batting during the times we are at the crease and even during practice.”
