St Lucia Stars batsman David Warner struck an unbeaten 42 to lead his side to a six-wicket win over the Barbados Tridents and ensure they finished off their season on a high note.
Opting to bowl first, the Stars got an early breakthrough as debutant Christopher Lamont dismissed Tridents opener Dwayne Smith for 16.
Martin Guptill fell for nine runs, while Shai Hope only scored two runs before being caught and bowled by Lamont.
Shamar Springer managed to score 17 before being removed by Obed McCoy, who also ran out Hashim Amla for a 34-ball 35, which included four boundaries.
With the Stars continuing to lose wickets at regular intervals after Amla’s dismissal, they finished on 135/7 off their 20 overs.
Lamont, McCoy and Kesrick Williams picked up two wickets apiece.
Chasing 136 to win, the Stars made a poor start to their innings as opener Andre Fletcher was caught by Tridents captain Jason Holder at mid-off off the bowling of Mohammad Irfan for five runs.
Rahkeem Cornwall made an 11-ball 18 before being caught behind off the bowling of Irfan.
Chandrapaul Hemraj and Warner stabilised the innings with a 56-run partnership before Hemraj was clean bowled by Holder for 37.
Stars captain Kieron Pollard was trapped lbw the very next ball, but Warner and Lendl Simmons finished things off with an unbeaten 56-run stand.
Warner ended up making 42 off 45 balls, which included four boundaries, while Simmons remained undefeated on 24 off 17 deliveries, which included two boundaries and a six.
Irfan and Holder claimed two wickets each.
Lamont was named Man of the Match.
